Ag Apps & App Central

Submission guidelines

Use the information below to better understand the publishing process for Android™-based mobile applications and to prepare for a successful Ag App launch through Trimble’s App Central.

Step 1

Review developer policies & agreements

In order to download Trimble’s Android Software Development Kit (SDK) or submit an app for publishing on Trimble’s App Central, developers must first read and agree to Trimble’s developer software policies and agreements.

Relevant documentation is provided for review by clicking on the links below, including both webpage and downloadable PDF versions. Agreement will be provided when the developer submits relevant materials or requests the SDK.

Step 2

Review launch checklist

Developers wishing to submit an Ag App to Trimble’s App Central should start by downloading Google’s Android Developers Launch Checklist, which serves as a basis for best practices.

Note: The following are not required for Trimble’s Android-based displays:

  • Determining a content rating for your application
  • Using in-app billing
  • Completing a store listing for App Central
  • Using Google Play badges and links

Additional details can be found by requesting and downloading Trimble’s Android SDK.

Step 3

Develop your app

App development should be done in accordance with Android and Trimble guidelines, as highlighted in the previous step and the Trimble Android SDK.

Note: If your application requires a user to log in, developers should create credentials for a test account that can be used by Trimble to test your app. This information will be submitted as part of Steps 4 and 5, including:

  • Providing an unlock code or instructions for obtaining an unlock
  • Providing details and directions in the app’s general description section if the app requires a purchase to obtain the unlock

Step 4

Step 5

Submit App Central listing information

Much like in the Google Play store, App Central requires a brief description of your app describing key features and benefits for the farmer. Below is an overview of the items and information you will need to provide.
